Free Career Readiness Assessment for Colleges and Universities

Most "free" career readiness assessments are short self-scored quizzes for individual students. What "free" usually means

Search for a free career readiness assessment and you will mostly find one of two things. The first is a short self-scored quiz aimed at an individual student: useful as a reflection prompt, but it produces no institutional data, no employer input and nothing an assessment office can report. The second is a free trial or a free tier on a platform whose real product is a five-figure annual contract, where "free" ends at a student cap or a feature wall.

Neither is free at the level that matters to an institution, which is the level where you have a roster, a term, a cohort, and a report to produce.

What is included here

Every capability listed below is available to every institution at no cost. There is no upgrade path because there is nothing to upgrade to.

Roster import. Bring students in by CSV, organized into cohorts and terms.
The full NACE instrument. All eight competencies, not a subset.
360-degree feedback. Students invite the supervisors, employers, mentors

and faculty who actually watched them work. Raters respond through a secure single-use link with no account and no password, which is the single largest determinant of response rate.

Self versus observer gap analysis. The difference between the two ratings

is the part students act on.

Cohort and program analytics. Filter by cohort, major, term and custom

fields.

Accreditation exports. Purpose-built output for AACSB, ABET and regional

review.

Your branding. Your logo, colors and institution name throughout, on your

own subdomain or a custom domain.

Campus single sign-on. SAML 2.0 and OpenID Connect, optional per

institution.

How this is sustainable

A fair question, and one worth answering plainly rather than waving away.

The platform is built and maintained by Champlin Enterprises and is funded by their other software products rather than by this one. The running costs of a well-built assessment platform are genuinely low; most of the price attached to comparable products reflects sales and account management rather than infrastructure. Removing the sales motion removes most of the cost.

The commitments that follow from that are concrete. Student data is never sold, never brokered and never used for third-party model training. There is no advertising anywhere in the student experience. Benchmarks are computed from anonymized aggregates with minimum cohort sizes so no individual or small group is identifiable. Full data export is available at any time in open formats, so leaving is always possible.

What it costs to try

Nothing, and no conversation with anyone. Institutions sign up directly, import a roster and run an assessment window the same day. There is no demo call, no procurement cycle and no purchase order.
